Let’s be honest — menopause can feel like a rollercoaster you didn’t sign up for. One minute you’re fine, the next you're overheating, wide awake at 3am, and wondering where your confidence has gone. Sound familiar?

You’re not alone.

At Ripples Hypnotherapy, I’m passionate about supporting women through the emotional and physical changes of peri-menopause and menopause — with warmth, understanding, and evidence-based tools that really help.

🔄 What’s Actually Happening?

During menopause, levels of oestrogen and progesterone begin to fluctuate — and eventually decline. These hormonal shifts affect much more than just your menstrual cycle.

They can influence:

  • Sleep (especially staying asleep through the night)

  • Body temperature regulation (hello, hot flushes and night sweats)

  • Mood and anxiety levels

  • Memory and focus

  • Energy and self-esteem

And while it’s a completely natural phase of life, that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

🔥 Hot Flushes: Can Hypnotherapy Help?

Yes! And the research backs it up.

Clinical studies have shown that hypnotherapy can reduce hot flushes by up to 74% in frequency and 80% in intensity.(Elkins et al., 2013 – Menopause: The Journal of The North American Menopause Society)

That’s a huge difference — without needing to rely solely on medication.

Hypnotherapy works by helping the brain and body regulate stress, restore balance to the nervous system, and respond more calmly to internal changes like temperature fluctuations.

😴 Sleep Struggles and Insomnia

One of the most common complaints I hear from women in midlife is:“I’m absolutely exhausted… but I just can’t sleep.”

This is often linked to falling progesterone and oestrogen, which can cause night-time waking, restlessness, and that awful tired-but-wired feeling.

Hypnotherapy helps by gently guiding your mind and body into deep relaxation, easing racing thoughts, calming anxiety, and supporting your natural sleep cycle — so you can finally rest again.

💙 The Mindful Menopause™ Approach

To deepen my support for women at this stage of life, I recently trained with Sophie Fletcher, author of Mindful Menopause, and am now qualified to deliver her powerful Mindful Menopause™ programme.
