Do you feel stuck in habits that no longer serve you?
Maybe it’s smoking or vaping. Maybe it’s challenges around food, weight management, or drinking. Often, these behaviours aren’t the real problem — they’re coping strategies for something deeper, like anxiety, stress, or emotional overload.
We all reach for things that make us feel better in the moment. Food, alcohol, or other habits can temporarily soothe uncomfortable feelings, but they can also mask what’s really going on beneath the surface. Over time, this can keep us stuck in a loop that feels hard to escape.
Why Habits Are So Hard to Change
When we’re stressed or anxious, our emotional brain takes over. In those moments, the rational, decision-making part of our brain — the prefrontal cortex — effectively switches off. The brain is efficient (and a little lazy!), so it prefers familiar patterns, even if they’re unhelpful.
Our brains are predictive machines. If reaching for food, a drink, or another habit gives a quick dopamine hit, the brain learns, “This works — let’s do it again.” And so the pattern repeats, again and again, until we actively retrain it.
How Hypnotherapy Can Help
This is where hypnotherapy, combined with CBT and solution-focused approaches, can be incredibly powerful. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind to help reprogramme brain-driven behaviours, understand the addiction or habit loop, and gently change how those dopamine pathways are triggered.
Rather than relying on willpower alone, we focus on:
Understanding why the habit exists
Reducing anxiety and stress at their root
Creating healthier coping strategies
Building a clearer picture of your future, ideal self
Moving Towards Balance and Control
Imagine living a more balanced life — feeling calmer, more in control, and no longer driven by habits that keep you stuck. Together, we can work on clear goals, future-focused change, and practical tools that support long-term wellbeing.
So ask yourself: Is 2026 going to be your year for change?
If you’re ready to let go of unwanted habits and move towards a healthier, more empowered version of you, CBT and solution-focused hypnotherapy can support you every step of the way.
